How to Be Saved

Learn what the Bible says about salvation through Jesus Christ.

God Loves You

God created you, knows you completely, and loves you deeply. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." — John 3:16 (KJV)

Sin Separates Us From God

God is holy, and we all fall short of His standard. The Bible says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." — Romans 3:23 (KJV) Sin has a consequence: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." — Romans 6:23 (KJV)

Jesus Made a Way

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a perfect, sinless life. He willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and on the third day, He rose again. Salvation is not something we earn — it is a gift of God's grace.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." — Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)

How to Be Saved

The Bible tells us that salvation comes through:

  • Believe— Trust that Jesus is the Son of God who died and rose again.
  • Repent— Turn away from sin and turn toward God.
  • Trust Jesus as Lord and Savior— Surrender your life to Him and follow Him.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." — Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

A Simple Prayer

"Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I need You. I believe that You died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and place my trust in You. Please forgive me, come into my life, and be my Lord and Savior. Help me to follow You from this day forward. Amen."

The words of a prayer are not what save you. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. This prayer is simply a way to express that faith to God.
