Praying for Someone Else

You don't need every detail to pray faithfully for someone in need.

Intercession Is Love in Prayer

Praying for someone else — sometimes called intercession — is one of the most loving things you can do. You are bringing another person before God and asking Him to work in their life.

You do not need to know every detail of their situation. God knows what they need even when you don't. A simple, honest prayer on their behalf is enough.

What You Can Pray For

Here are some things you can pray for others:

  • Healing — for physical, emotional, or spiritual restoration.
  • Peace — for calm in the midst of storms.
  • Wisdom — for clarity in difficult decisions.
  • Strength — for endurance when they are weary.
  • Comfort — for those who are grieving or hurting.
  • Provision — for daily needs to be met.
  • Protection — for safety and deliverance from harm.
  • Faith — for a deeper trust in God.

You Don't Need Perfect Knowledge

Even a simple "Lord, please bless and help ___" is a genuine prayer. God is not limited by what you know. He sees the whole picture.

A Simple Prayer

Heavenly Father, I lift up ___ to You. You know what they need even better than I do. Please surround them with Your love, give them strength for today, and work in their situation in ways I cannot see. Heal what is broken, comfort what hurts, and draw them closer to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
